3 Signs You Need a Content Writer for Your Lifestyle Blog

Here’s my thing as a content strategist and writer for lifestyle bloggers: You’ve put so much effort into growing and maintaining your lifestyle blog, but if you’re here, you’ve probably started to hit a brick wall (if you haven’t gone crashing into it already). But outsourcing can seem scary or overwhelming because your blog is your baby, but also, you need help. As a marketing pro (and a blogger myself), I get it. Let’s go through the signs that you just need to hire a content writer for your blog.
You’re struggling to put out content anymore
You might even have tons of ideas buzzing in that brain of yours, but between finding affiliate programs and doing social media content and wondering what the hell is going on with Pinterest these days, it’s just not getting out there. You’re struggling to have the time and energy to sit down and write all the blogs that you want up on your blog.
This is your clearest sign that you need to hire some help. Odds are, you’re already doing so much with the time you have, and adding on writing might just not be feasible anymore. You probably know as well as I do that consistency is the most important thing in blogging, so if you’re unable to do that, it’s time to get some help.
You’re not taking advantage of the content you do have
The opposite might be true, too. If you’re pumping out blogs, but you don’t have time to take advantage of them or optimize them the way you want, a content writer can help with that, too. You don’t want to just throw the blog out there and pray. It’s super important that you’re also repurposing for social media, optimizing for affiliate links, and finding new programs that will help your audience.
If your blog is updated but everything else is not, it might be worth hiring someone who can help you get out the individual blogs, so you can focus on the things that move the needle in your business.
You’re not getting the results you want
This is another super clear sign that you need to hire a content writer because it means something has stagnated, and you need to switch tactics or focus on other things. Obviously, you still need blog content, but what you’re posting might simply not be working anymore, or your strategy needs an update.
If you’re looking at your analytics and not seeing the growth you want (or worse, avoiding your analytics), help would probably be, well, helpful. Hiring a content writer who knows what they’re doing can help get you there because they can look at your blog holistically and see what needs to be adjusted.
Not just a content writer…
Personally, I don’t think you should hire just a content writer. I think you should hire someone who can do content strategy, too. Someone who can look at your analytics and your ideal audience to figure out what makes the most sense for you and said audience. You don’t just want someone who can pump out a blog for you, but someone who can be a thought partner and help you generate ideas. Someone who’s on top of the trends and understands the big concepts like SEO and GEO. Someone who can help you grow.
